Cafe Berlin on Capitol Hill

Getting Back to My German Roots

This stop was a very last minute and very surprising one for me. Cafe Berlin wasn’t on my radar initially, but I’m so glad I came across it. I have quite a bit of German in me coming from my mom’s side, and a lot of her family lives in Germany. We visit as often as we can, and when we’re there we are SPOILED with all the yummy food and drinks we get. I mean I dream about the food regularly. So, my mom was visiting from Florida for the week and we were craving some good German food. I hopped on google and searched “German restaurants near me”, and Cafe Berlin was the first option.

Union Mark “EATS”

What to eat, what to drink, and other sweets

Union Market is actual heaven. It’s almost overwhelming when you first walk in, with all the food options and yummy treats. I’ve raved about it in my Union Market blog post, and think it’s just an awesome spot. I’ve had to tell myself on repeat to not eat with my eyes and take into account that I’m a rather petite human and two bites really does the trick. There are so many different options and choices to fit whatever mood you’re in. Not only are there lots of options, but they’re all actually really good. I get excited every time I go to Union Market because I get to try a new place each time, and it’s such a fun game to play, although I definitely need to go to the gym double time after each visit.

Union Market Fit

The Seasons are changing, bring on the layers!

Having lived in Florida for the past 8 years, I haven’t been able to experience many weather changes. Now that I’m in D.C., I’m finally getting a taste of that again. I got excited when the temperature started dropping, and you can only imagine the feeling of finally busting out a sweater from my closet. I don’t have many winter clothes, so I’ve had an excuse to shop lately (no complaints at all I’m LOVING IT), and this outfit was a little out of the box for me but it was so fun to wear.

A Quick Escape to Union Market

Why’s It All the Rage?

Union Market was the first special little place I discovered when I came here, and I fell in love instantly. I love aesthetically pleasing vibes and a place to catch a good photo op, and that’s definitely what you get coming here. It’s a relatively new spot and it’s constantly booming, and the area all around is equally as awesome. This is the perfect place to visit, hang out, eat, drink, play some games, and just enjoy yourself. Lucky for me it’s only a couple metro stops away, so it’s super easy for me to go and grab a bite to eat and take a break.
